Cossom delivers another outstanding snare drum solo. Taking inspiration from the intricate world of ballet, Pas de duex explores the rapport between the drumhead and rim of the snare drum. Elegant phrasing and technical strength is demanded of the player throughout the work. This work adds to the already impressive series created for the annual MSO Snare Drum Award.

This work is a commission for the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Snare Drum Award.
